Welcome to the Shanghai Gaelic Football Page

Shanghai GFC was founded in 2002 and has gone from strength to strength in a
very short time.
We now have a well established club of expats from Ireland and all over the
world.
For those unfamiliar with Gaelic Football it is best described as a cross
between soccer and rugby, combining the skill of soccer with the rough and
tumble of rugby.

The recent success of the Asian Gaelic Games held here in Shanghai in
September has meant that more and more people have started playing this
exciting game. Shanghai GFC now boasts 2 mens and 2 womens teams.

We invite players of all ages, nationalities and skill levels to take to the
field to play Gaelic football on a regular basis. We have even decided to
set up a mini-league for anyone interested. This league will take the form
of seven-a-side games played each weekend at the Shanghai rugby football
club. Everybody is welcome to partake in this league. There will be training
sessions to familiarise those new to the sport, with some fitness training
thrown in for those who wish to get in shape whilst learning a new sport in
the process.

A free bus leaves from the Blarney Stone every Saturday at 1pm to take
players to the pitches at the Rugby Football Club, JinQiao.
