The Shanghai Football Club has selected Half the Sky Foundation to
receive support from Club charity events. Half the Sky was created by
adoptive parents of orphaned Chinese children. Their purpose is to
enrich the lives and enhance the prospects for the babies and children
in China who still wait to be adopted, and for those who will spend
their childhoods in orphanages. They establish early childhood
education, personalized learning, and infant nurture programs in Chinese
welfare institutions to provide the children stimulation, individual
attention, and an active learning environment. To learn more, visit them

Roots & Shoots is a global environmental and humanitarian program
for youth. Roots & Shoots emphasizes intercultural interaction and
promotes care and concern for the environment, animals, and other people
through community service projects and educational activities. This
program began in 1991 in Tanzania . Its dramatic growth and acceptance
is testimony to the universal good it can do, and the positive effect it
has, not only on the environment, but on the children who participate.
Roots & Shoots members include preschool to university level youth in
more than 50 countries around the world. Dr. Goodall's hope is to
inspire students to make the world a better place for all living things. To learn more, visit them
